State of the art presentation of Annual Report and Proxy information in 2018 (S&P 500 study)
EZOnlineDocuments has completed our annual study of the S&P 500 where we evaluate the online presentation of the S&P 500 companies’ Annual Reports and Proxy Statements.
Proxy Statement improvements continue
In 2018, 67% of companies in the S&P 500 used enhanced methods for their nominee presentation. This percentage is up from 60% in 2017 and 49% in 2016. This improvement to nominee presentation also mirrors the improvement companies have made by adding proxy summaries in the same time period.
Companies are still not embracing digital investors
Although S&P 500 companies have changed their websites (94%) and IR sites (96%) in ways to support digital and mobile investors, very few have presented their Annual Reports (25%) and Proxy Statements (13%) in a method better than PDF to further support digital and mobile investors.
Best of the S&P 500 in presentation of Annual Report and Proxy information in 2018
Out of all the S&P 500 companies, these thirty-four (7%) provided their Annual Report with an introduction, published their Proxy Statement with a proxy summary and an enhanced nominee presentation, and presented both documents in a format better than PDF:
